The newest addition to the Mercedes-AMG GT racing family, roared to life on January 22 at Mercedes me Melbourne.
The store played host to members of the automotive media and Melbournians alike for the Australian premiere of the all new Mercedes-AMG GT4 race car.
Reigning Australian GT champion and Mercedes-Benz’s own Peter Hackett was onsite to offer a detailed walk through of the vehicle and its high performance capabilities for the fascinated in store guests.
The all new Mercedes-AMG GT4 race car sits between the explosive AMG GT R, and the even more powerful AMG GT3 race car. With a 4.0 litre V8 bi-turbo mid-engine, the GT4 perfectly opens the doors for customers to enter the world of performance racing. With a six-speed sequential racing transmission, airlifting system, polycarbonate glazing and ultralight body elements, the GT4 is undeniably a fully-fledged member of the GT racing family.
Following the unveiling, the new AMG GT4 remained on display at Mercedes me for the remainder of the week before making its way to Bathurst for a second public viewing at the 2019 Liqui-Moly 12 Hour Race.
